Every account starts with $50 in credit. No card, no seat licenses, no annual commit. Invite everyone who has a question, because nobody needs a seat of their own. You pay for the minutes the work actually runs, tracked in real time, and every rate is published on this page.

How credits and metered billing work →

We price by the minute because we spent years watching the people with the best questions get left off the seat list. A charge nurse, a grants manager, a controller at month end: they never got a license, so they never got an answer.

So there are no seats here. Invite everyone who has a question. You pay for the minutes the work runs, and when nothing is running, you pay nothing. If a line on your bill ever surprises you, write to us and we’ll walk through it with you.

Five billing categories, with no hidden line items.

All usage is metered per-minute and displayed in your Billing & Subscription dashboard in real-time.

Pipeline Runtime
ETL/ELT jobs that extract, transform, and load data into your lakehouse. Billed start-to-finish, rounded up to nearest minute.
$5.00 / hour
$0.083 / minute
Automation Runtime
Scheduled workflows and custom container jobs. Metered like pipelines: start to finish, rounded up to nearest minute.
$5.00 / hour
$0.083 / minute
AI Tokens (Databasin One)
Tokens for natural language queries, SQL generation, and AI analysis. A typical interaction uses 2,000–8,000 tokens. Input and output share one flat rate.
$15 / 1M tokens
$0.015 / 1K tokens · $0.000015 / token
Lakehouse Compute
Databasin Sail (the default engine) and Trino clusters are billed per node-hour, by the minute, for the nodes that are actually running. Workers scale to zero when idle, so an idle Sail cluster costs only its coordinator. Stopped clusters cost nothing.
Databasin Sail sizes, per hour
Size Nodes vCPU Memory All running Idle
XSmall 1 + 1 × E8 10 68 GB $1.82 $0.27
Small 1 + 2 × E8 18 132 GB $3.37 $0.27
Medium 1 + 4 × E8 35 262 GB $6.61 $0.41
Large 1 + 4 × E16 68 520 GB $12.94 $0.54
XLarge 1 + 5 × E32 164 1,288 GB $31.55 $0.54
Node prices, the same for Sail and Trino
Node vCPU Memory Per hour Per minute
Consumption 4 8 GB $0.864 $0.0144
D4 4 16 GB $0.616 $0.0103
E8 8 64 GB $1.55 $0.0258
E16 16 128 GB $3.10 $0.0517
E32 32 256 GB $6.20 $0.1034
How it works: A cluster's bill is the sum of its nodes. Add workers to a cluster and each extra worker bills at its node price. A Sail coordinator runs at a lower rate: $0.27, $0.41 or $0.54 an hour for 2, 3 or 4 vCPU. A Trino coordinator bills as a node, so the Trino sizes come to $1.73 (XSmall), $1.85 (Small), $6.20 (Medium), $15.50 (Large) and $37.21 (XLarge) an hour with every node running.
Storage
Covers the bronze, silver, and gold layers of your lakehouse, plus uploaded files and shared data. Measured as a daily snapshot.
$0.024 / GB / month
$24.00 / TB / month
How it works: Storage is measured once per day, and your bill reflects the latest snapshot rather than the peak. Delete data and your bill drops in the next cycle. Includes all data across all projects.

All usage is billed monthly via Stripe. View current-period usage anytime in Admin → Organization → Billing & Subscription .

you pay Azure and license modules from us.

Install Databasin from the Azure Marketplace straight into your own Azure tenant. Databasin Private is built for teams that carry their own security and compliance posture. None of the meters on this page apply. You pay Azure directly for your own compute and LLM, and Databasin is licensed per module.

One bill covers connectors, pipelines, compute, AI and dashboards

Pipelines, automations, compute, AI, and dashboards are all included in the rates above. There is no separate connector vendor, orchestration tool, BI license, or AI API bill to assemble, and nothing at all is charged while your clusters are stopped. Comparing against a specific stack? See Databasin vs Snowflake, Databasin vs Databricks, or Databasin vs Fabric.

Everything you'd want to know before you start

No. Compute billing only applies while your cluster is running. Stopped clusters have zero cost. You can stop and start clusters anytime from your dashboard.
Yes. Compute resources were consumed regardless of whether the job succeeded or failed. A pipeline that runs for 2 hours and fails at the end is billed for 2 hours. This is consistent with how all cloud compute billing works.
Storage is based on a daily snapshot. Your bill reflects the most recent measurement rather than the peak, so a mid-month cleanup brings it down. Storage includes all data across all projects within your organization.
No. Databasin is purely usage-based. Add as many users as you want. You're only billed for compute, pipeline, AI, and storage usage, so adding the finance team costs nothing until they run something.

Yes. Every new account starts with $50 in credits. That covers running pipelines, querying data, and trying everything else. No credit card required. When credits run out, add a payment method to continue.
All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Invoices are generated at the end of each billing period and visible in Admin → Organization → Billing & Subscription → Invoice History.
Yes. If your organization uses its own LLM API key (BYOLLM), you still pay the Databasin token fee for orchestration, schema context, and query governance. Your LLM provider charges are separate.
Yes. Databasin Private deploys from the Azure Marketplace directly into your own tenant, for teams that carry their own security and compliance posture. You get unlimited seats, and you pay Azure directly for your own compute and LLM usage; Databasin is licensed per module. The consumption rates on this page apply to Databasin Cloud only, so contact us for Databasin Private licensing.
